A
bus passenger who hunted down and headbutted the driver because the
vehicle pulled away as he was boarding is being sought by police.
The
angry passenger (pictured) stumbled as he got on the route 119 bus in
Croydon then later attacked the driver when he was enjoying a break.
Oficers
from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Roads and Transport Policing
Command Reactive Investigations Unit have released this CCTV image.
They
are appealing for help in identifying a man.
On
November 1, last year at approximately 3.45pm, the victim, a
46-year-old male bus driver, was headbutted as he was on his break at
the Colonnades Leisure Park in Croydon.
The
victim had previously been driving the bus, where he was approached
by a passenger who had stumbled as the bus moved away as he boarded.
Officers
believe this to be the suspect.
CCTV
footage shows the suspect getting off the bus at Denning Avenue and
shortly after he boards another bus at the same location.
The
suspect travels on this bus and gets off at the Colonnades Leisure
Park and attacks the victim.
The
suspect then fled prior to police arrival.
The
victim was taken by the London Ambulance Service to hospital for
treatment to a cut to his forehead.
The
suspect is described as a white man, aged about 40 to 50 years,
wearing a flat cap and dark coloured jacket.
