Soldier In Dock Charged With Kidnapping Woman

A serving British Army soldier, accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, appeared for the first time at Wimbledon Magistrates Court today.

Alvon Montgomery Tobias, 32, of Carver Barracks, Elder Street, Wimbish, Essex was bailed to appear at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on August 7.


He faces one count of kidnapping Monika Mikalak in Valley Mews, Twickenham on April 7, namely unlawfully by force or fraud took or carried her away.


Carver Barracks – formerly RAF Debden – is the home of 33 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal).


Tobias was granted bail on the conditions he does not contact Monika Mikalak, does not enter Valley Mews and does not go within the vicinity of West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth.
