Eight Months For Death Crash Driver Who Killed Mum On Crossing

A young van driver, who mowed down and killed a mother using a pedestrian crossing with her seven year-old daughter, has been locked-up for eight months.

Patrick Sheridan, 20, of Water Lane, Smithy Fen, Cottenham, Cambridge ran over 40 year-old Flora Kharwa in west London.

He was also disqualified from driving for two years when sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court.

Philippines-born Flora was fatally injured by the silver Nissan van Sheridan was driving in Hampton road West, Hanworth on October 3, 2014.

Her daughter was also treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Flora was employed as a nanny and after the tragedy her husband Jitu left a photograph of her at the scene and her daughter drew a colourful poster with the words: “We love mum!” and decorated it with a flower sticker.
