Croydon Cop Cleared Of GBH

Not Guilty: PC Fackerell
A police officer was finally cleared yesterday of a violent attack while off-duty.

PC Alex Fackerell, 23, had the charge against him dropped when he appeared on bail for trial at Croydon Crown Court.

The Borough of Croydon officer and Bradley Cody, 24, had both been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm.

The charge related to an incident in Sutton High Street on November 1, last year.

PC Fackerell was arrested on December 5 and charged on March 10, this year.

Cody also had the GBH charge against him reduced to one of causing actual bodily harm and was bailed to return for trial on October 23.
