Ladbrokes Employee Nicked £1300 In Winning Wagers

Ladbrokes, Northolt Road
A betting-shop employee ripped off lucky punters by cashing in their winning tickets for himself.

Sabeshan Karunasegaram, 22, worked for high street gambling giants Ladbrokes at their branch in Northolt Road, South Harrow.

He pocketed £1,300 in winning wagers after taking the tickets to another Ladbrokes and passing himself off as a successful punter.

Karunasegaram, of Padda Court, Northolt Road, Harrow was bailed by Uxbridge Magistrates Court for a pre-sentence report.

He pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation, namely cashing in tickets from several different customers, on July 14.

Karunasegaram was sentenced to eight weeks imprisonment, suspended for twelve months.

He was also ordered to perform 250 hours community service work, pay £1300 compensation to Ladbrokes and £85 costs.
