Thief Who Pinched £62,500 From Lady Is Locked-Up

A middle-aged thief, who was charged with nicking £62,500 from a lady, has been sent to prison for eighteen months.

Alan Binstead, 59, of Addington House, Stockwell Road, south London was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court.

He first appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates court.

Binstead was originally charged with stealing the quantity of money from Elsie Bailey in the London borough of Lambeth between January 1 and November 24, last year.

He was also ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge.
