Olympic Sprint Legend Christie's Son Locked-Up

The drug-dealing son of former sprint star Linford Christie was jailed for four years yesterday for dealing crack cocaine and heroin.

Liam Oliver-Christie, 33, of Lakeside Road, West Kensington appeared on bail at Isleworth Crown Court to change his plea before a scheduled trial next week.

He pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine, with intent to supply, on November 9, last year and possessing heroin, with intent to supply, at his home address on the same day.

Oliver-Christie, who has previous drug convictions, had been fighting the case and was due to start a two-day trial on October 1.

He received four years on each count to run concurrently with each other.

Dad Linford won gold for Great Britain in the 100m at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and was also victorious in the event at World, European and Commonwealth championships.

Liam’s mother is former typist Yvonne oliver, who had a short relationship with the athlete and he has a twin sister Korel.
