Mystery Thug Attacks Pedestrians In Heart Of Square Mile

Police are hunting a thug who randomly punched two members of the public in the face during daytime attacks in the City of London.

The mystery man struck in the middle of the afternoon in the Fenchurch Street area of the Square Mile.

City of London Police have released this image of their suspect and are appealing to the public for their assistance in identifying him.

The first assault took place in Fen Court on Thursday, November 4 at approximately 3.25pm. 

The suspect approached a member of the public, who was walking home from work and punched him in the face.

The suspect then made his way to nearby Mincing Lane, where he attacked another member of the public at approximately 3.40pm, before making off in the direction of Plantation Lane, Rood, Lane and East Cheap, and was last seen on St George’s Lane.

Both victims received facial injuries and were left shaken.

PC Aimee Tuppen-Griffiths, from the City of London Police said: “We are asking members of the public to come forward to help us identify the man in this image, whose actions have left two innocent people with facial injuries.

“The man is described as a white male, in his twenties, of medium build with scruffy brown hair, approximately 5 foot 6 or 7.

“If anyone has any information, or recognises the man, please contact City of London Police, quoting crime reference 21*642966.”
