Train Commuter Spit Nicked

A London commuter has been left counting the extra cost of tube-train travel, after being hit with a £260 bill for SPITTING, when reported by specialist transport cops.

David Burrell, 36, of Ariel Court, Kennington Lane, Kennington, was summonsed after the Crown Prosecution Service gave the thumbs-up to proceed with the case.

Prosecutor Mr. Joe Sentence, shaking his head and branding the decision “pathetic”, proved the allegation to JP’s at City of London Magistrates Court.

“It’s spitting on the platform at Elephant and Castle Station. He did it twice and said it was an accident and he had made a mistake,” explained Mr. Sentence.

The British Transport Police originated the prosecution.

“An expensive spit,” commented the Bench Chairman, fining absent Burrell £175, with £90 costs.
