School Caretaker Caught With Child Porn On Work Computer

A school caretaker with twenty-three years service is now banned from working with kids after he was caught with child porn on his computer.

David Freeman, 69, of Lower Richmond Road, Richmond was reported to police after some of the images were spotted on his work tablet, issued by The Queen's Church of England School, Cumberland Road, Kew.

He pleaded guilty at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court to three counts of making indecent images of children between January 1 and May 30, last year.

The vast majority of the images – 318 – were Category C, the lowest in terms of seriousness, but there were also 14 Category B and one Category A – the most serious.

Prosecutor Mr. Bill McGivern told the court officers executed a search warrant at Freeman's home and seized his home computer, which contained the majority of the images.

This is a school janitor and he had been issued the tablet by the school and when the images were seen his home computer was examined.

The images were on his home computer and because of a link they were available on the school computer.

There will be a prevention order barring him from working with children.”

Today Freeman was sentenced to a twelve month community order, which includes 180 hours community service and was made subject to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
