An employee, accused of
stealing over £90,000 from the landmark south-west London department
store where he worked, appeared in court for the first time today yesterday.
Adam James Harris, 46, of Redwood Place, Morewood Close did not indicate a plea when he appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court.
Jurisdiction was declined due to the seriousness of the charge and Harris was bailed to appear at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on June 29.
He is charged with stealing £94,627.96 from Elys, Wimbledon between January 1, 2009 and January 13, this year.
It is alleged Harris refunded himself money from the till over a a six-year period.
