A terrified mother-of-two tried to flee for her life after a chance meeting with her violent ex, but was killed by twenty stab wounds as she attempted to escape in a car.
Zandra Maxwell-Nelson, 24, (pic.top) of Nicoll Road, Willesden, North-West London had just enjoyed a picnic with her ex-husband’s sister and their children.
However, when they returned to the sister’s address in Durban Road, Tottenham, North London, Nathaniel Brown, 27, (pic.bottom) who had not seen his ex-wife for over a year attacked her with a kitchen knife.
After a two-week Old Bailey trial Brown was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a twenty-one year minimum recommendation.
Zandra ran to her parked car at 6.00pm on April 20, last year as Brown began stabbing her, but she received further wounds in the vehicle.
He then dropped the knife in the street and removed his bloodstained shirt.
Zandra was rushed to the Royal London Hospital, but was pronounced dead two-and-a-half hours later.
