Detectives
are appealing for information after a man exposed himself to lone
women travelling on buses in the Whitechapel area of Tower Hamlets.
The
incidents occurred on two separate occasions.
At
around 1.25pm on Thursday, March 15, the 21-year-old victim was
sitting on the upper deck of a Route 135 bus travelling from Old
Street Station towards Westferry Station.
A
man boarded the bus on Commercial Road and also took a seat on the
upper deck.
He
tried to engage the victim in conversation before exposing himself to
her.
The
victim moved away and the suspect got off the bus near Westferry DLR
station.
The
second incident occurred at around 8.00am on Wednesday, March 28
whilst a 23-year-old woman was sitting on a Route 205 bus travelling
from Paddington Station towards Bow Church Station.
Both
the victim and suspect were on the upper deck of the bus towards the
back.
The
suspect approached the victim and exposed himself to her.
The
suspect is described as an Indian man aged in his thirties, with a
dark beard and moustache.
Detective
Constable Jo O’Connor, of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing
Command, said: “Both
women were understandably very shocked by these incidents and no one
should be subjected to this.
“If
anyone has any information that could help us identify this man then
please get in touch.”
