Mark On Her License: Lady Clementine Caught Speeding Again

The wife of Liberal Democrat peer Lord Marks narrowly avoided a driving ban today as a magistrate told her: “You have a flagrant disregard for obeying speed limits.”

Lady Clementine Medina Marks, 53, like her husband, a qualified barrister now has three speeding convictions and 11 penalty points on her license - one point short of an automatic six-month ban. 

The mother-of-five was today fined a total of £1,250 for two speeding offences in her black three-litre diesel Mercedes and received a total of eight penalty points.

“Having looked at all the circumstances the bench are minded not to disqualify today and will be putting points on the defendant’s license,” announced the magistrate Vanessa Weguelin.

“We have taken into account your guilty plea to both of these matters.

“You have a flagrant disregard for obeying speed limits and that’s totally unacceptable and we take a very serious view of it.

“You need to be extremely careful about your driving, red lights, speeding, especially in Central London, where there are many 20mph zones.

“We take this very, very seriously.”

Lady Marks must also pay £100 costs and a £125 victim surcharge. “Your lawyer said you have substantial savings.” 

She has two addresses on the court record, a £3.5m apartment in Sloane Street, Belgravia, plus a £4.3m flat in Queens Gate Gardens, South Kensington.

The couple also own an £8m eighteenth century mansion in Binfield Heath, near Henley-on-Thames and five years ago were involved in a planning battle with South Oxfordshire District Council to build another huge property on their estate.

“Don’t tell me she hasn’t got any money. She lives in Queens Gate Gardens and she’s got a house in Oxfordshire,” Ms Weguelin told her lawyer. 

Regarding her income Lady Marks had told the court via her lawyer, Julian Hunt: “We spend everything we have,” admitting the couple have “several thousands” in savings.

Lady Marks, who appeared in court wearing black trousers and a burgundy cardigan caught speeding at 84mph in a 60mph zone, forty-two minutes after midnight in the early hours of June 18, 2019 on the M4 motorway near Heston Services, Brentford.

She was also caught speeding at 58mph in a 50mph zone on November 18, 2019 along the southbound carriageway of the A34 in Wytham, Oxfordshire.

Asking not to impose a lengthy ban Mr. Hunt told the magistrates: “This married lady lives in rural Oxfordshire with her husband and she has five children and there is little public transport.”

He asked for a short ban, submitting anything longer would effect her ability to run her busy household and visit her father, 90, who lives near Athens.

The court heard her youngest child, aged fifteen, attends boarding school and the rest of her children, aged 24, 22, 21,19 are in full-time education with the only one who can drive, a daughter, away at medical school.

“These matters have been adjourned for some time and this lady’s had this hanging over her mind for over a year now,” added the lawyer.

“Her husband is a lawyer himself and he has not been well. In 2019 he had a pulmonary embolism and was in hospital for a week.

“She does everything basically in running the family house.

“Her father lives near Athens and she visits him regularly. There is very little public transport out there and as he needs a UK license to drive out there and manage his carers.”

Her father recently suffered heart failure and needed a hip replacement after falling and suffering a fracture.

“This a very isolated family in Oxfordshire and there are no staff in the house,” added Mr. Hunt. “This is a family that have high expenses at the moment and are managing, just.”

The magistrate added: “It’s important you contact your insurance company to inform them you now have eleven points.”

Lady Marks’ husband, Jonathan Clive Marks, 68, Baron Marks of Henley-on-Thames is a former barrister and life peer in the House of Lords.

The Harrow and Oxford-educated QC was a committee man with the Liberal Democrats, having failed to win a seat as an MP and MEP.

He was Chair of the Liberal Democrat Lawyers Association from 2001 to 2007 and following his peerage became the party’s Shadow Justice Secretary.

Lady Clementine - known socially as Medina Marks - holds a company directorships with Westness 1000 Ltd. and Garsington Opera Enterprises.

Audacious Online Pervert Finally Caged

A pervert who flouted his suspended sentence and continued downloading sick child pornography has been caged.

Martin Sparks, 47, of Maldon Walk, Redbridge, obtained over two hundred images despite dodging immediate imprisonment for an earlier identical offence.

At Snaresbrook Crown Court he received two years and four months’ imprisonment. 

He was also handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

He pleaded guilty to five counts of breaching the SHPO, making indecent images of children (category A) and making indecent images of children (category B).

On Thursday, June 18, last year officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command executed a search warrant at Sparks’ home address.

He was still subject to a two-year suspended prison sentence and a SHPO, following a conviction in June, 2018 for making indecent images of children.

During the search of his address, officers seized a computer tower, which Sparks used to download the illegal images – this related to three of the breaches. 

Officers also found an electronic tablet, which was a breach due to it not being declared to his Public Protection Unit manager.

The remaining breach was for connecting to the home’s router to use the internet when he downloaded the images.

Sparks was taken to an east London police station. When searched in custody, two USB digital storage devices were found in his shoes.

A total of 233 category A (the most serious) child abuse videos and 17 category B images were found on the USBs.

Detective Constable James Cavenham said: “Sparks is now behind bars after committing the same hideous offence once again. 

“The evidence we gathered against him meant he had no option but to plead guilty.

"Although this is not a contact offence, every single image contains a child who is a victim of an appalling crime and when people like Sparks seek these images out, they continue to generate a market for this type of abuse.

“The Met will continue to relentlessly pursue and bring to justice those who download online images of child sexual abuse.”

Police Guns Raid

Two guns and thirty-four bullets have been seized following a firearms search warrant lead by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command.

Detective Inspector Adam Seton said: “The Coronavirus pandemic has reduced violent crime significantly, but it has not stopped our tenacious officers from going out and protecting the public from those who seek to cause harm.

“We will continue to pursue anyone involved in firearms offences. 

“No global pandemic will stop Met officers from seizing weapons, guns and protecting Londoners.”

Shortly before 3.50pm on Tuesday, January 26 officers from the Specialist Crime Command executed a firearms search warrant at an address in Norbury Avenue, Norbury, south London.

At the premises two firearms and bullets were recovered.

A 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene for possession of firearms and taken into police custody.

Ex-School Caretaker Gets 11 Years For New Charges

A disgraced former school caretaker, already locked-up for sex offences against under-age girls, has admitted further abuse.

John Lyon, 47, confessed to abusing four girls, aged between five and twelve years-old in north London between 1993 and 2013.

He received a sentence of eleven years imprisonment.

Lyon is currently also serving a sentence for sexually assaulting two girls between 2012 and 2013.

He pleaded guilty to three new counts of rape; three counts of sexual assault and three counts of indecent assault.

The new offences were reported to police in 2018 and 2019.

Detective Constable Keith Kimberley said: “I am in no doubt that this man is a dangerous sexual predator and he poses an ongoing threat to children.

“He caused unforgivable trauma to the children he abused and the only appropriate way for him to spend the next years of his life is in prison and away from the general public.

“As far as we can be sure of, Lyon offended over a period of two decades and my respect goes out to the victims and their families who were put through so much.”

A&E Thug Caged For Nurse Attack

A hospital thug, who attacked a female nurse in A&E, has been locked-up.

Prince Isaac Walker, 32, rendered 36 year-old nurse Sarah Tappy unconscious as a result of the assault at Homerton Hospital, east London

He was arrested on January 22 and kept in custody until his appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court the next day.

Walker pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency worker and was sentenced to twenty-six weeks imprisonment.

In the early hours of January 21 officers were at the hospital when they were alerted that a nurse had been assaulted in the A&E department.

Officers quickly detained Walker, who was taken to an east London police station and was charged later that day.

The nurse lost consciousness following the assault and required treatment. 

Her injuries were not life threatening.

PC Kyri Soupashis, the investigating officer, said: “This was a needlessly vicious attack on an emergency worker simply doing her job. 

“I hope that the sentence handed down brings the victim a measure of satisfaction and that she is able to recover from what was a very frightening experience.

“There is no justification for assaulting the people who devote their working lives to helping and protecting others, something that Walker will have time to reflect on as he serves his sentence.”

Speeding Hat-Trick For Spurs' Star Lamela

Tottenham Hotspur FC winger Erik Lamela has been fined again after being caught for the third time within twelve days on a speed camera near his club’s north London training ground.

The 28 year-old Argentinian international was clocked driving his red 5-litre Range Rover at 48mph in a 40mph zone on the A10 in Enfield on May 20, last year.

He was dealt with under behind-closed-doors Single Justice Procedure rules at Willesden Magistrates' Court
and the outcome of the case has only recently become public.

The £30m signing, who lives in a £5.6m luxury apartment in the Buxmead development in The Bishops Avenue, East Finchley is potentially one more speeding offence away from an automatic six-month ban.

He was fined £40, with £40 costs and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge for the latest speeding offence and received three penalty points on his license.

This will be added to the six penalty points he already has for speeding at 52mph on May 8 and 48mph on May 13, last year.

Tequila Tantrum: Drunken Teen's Meltdown

A drunken design student, who spewed homophobic abuse and assaulted hospital staff after drinking a bottle of tequila, will be “horrified” when her many gays friends learn of her behaviour, a court heard today.

Zofia Nowacka, 19, screamed: “F***ing gay faggot, f***ing c***, motherf***er,” and violently pulled a female paramedic’s hair; punched a security guard and slapped a policewoman across the face.

Wimbledon Magistrates Court heard she dialled 999, claiming she had overdosed on tablets, hoping the ambulance would take her to Charing Cross Hospital, where in her drunken state she convinced herself her boyfriend was.

Nowacka, of Parry Court, Central Road, Morden, who studied Design and Applied Arts at Kingston College pleaded guilty to assaulting paramedic Elizabeth Keegan; St. George’s Hospital security guard Parma Sharma and WPC Angela Clift.

She also admitted using threatening behaviour towards paramedic Matthew Morgan and causing a nuisance on NHS premises.

Prosecutor Trevor Green told the court it was 9.45pm on November 18, last year when Nowacka was taken to A&E. 

“She asked what hospital she was at and when told she was at St. George’s she became aggressive towards Ms Keegan and got into her personal space and squared up to Mr Morgan and uttered the homophobic abuse.”

The paramedics left in an attempt to “de-escalate” the situation, with Nowacka shouting: “Go f*** your mum,” at them.

Security guard Mr Sharma attempted to remove Nowacka from casualty. “When he tried to escort her away she started screaming and grabbed Ms Keegan’s hair and it took all of them to get her off and remove her from the building.

“The defendant continued to be aggressive and punched Mr Sharma to the right cheek and continued hitting the security guard as attempts were made to get her handcuffed and she was taken to the ground,” explained Mr Green.

“She was arrested and kept spitting in the police van on the way to Wandsworth Police Station, where there was further aggression directed towards the custody officer.

“Once in her cell she took off her top and put it around her neck and the officer, Angela Clift, tried to remove it and in doing that the defendant raised her hand and the officer received a blow to her cheek.”

Afterwards Ms Keegan said: “The incident left me distressed,” and PC Clift said: “As I tried to remove the clothing she slapped me across the face.”

Mr Sharma said: “I was not expecting the female to lash out at me. I don’t come to work to be assaulted.”

Probation Officer Janet Barnes told the court Nowacka described herself as “completely out of it,” after finishing the bottle of tequila and had no memory of the incident.

“She realises it is serious and is very, very sorry and has not intention of repeating such behaviour and apologises to the victims.”

The court heard Nowacka has booked herself into alcohol therapy and has been teetotal for three months.

Her lawyer Mr John Connolly said Nowacka has never been in trouble before. “She would be horrified if her friends, many who are in the LGBTQ community, knew she behaved like this and used these words.

“Alcohol must have played some part in this. This is a one-off and there is genuine remorse.”

Nowacka was placed on  a twelve-month community order, which includes a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to fifteen days.

She was ordered to pay £75 compensation to each of the four victims, plus £50 for the nuisance on NHS premises charge.

“This was a particularly unpleasant and prolonged incident against emergency workers on NHS premises during an on-going pandemic,” said magistrate Maria Stoney. 

“It is a particularly nasty, prolonged event on people involved in public service during a difficult time.”

Woman Sexually Assaulted After Bar Drinking-Session

Police are hunting four suspected sexual predators after a young woman was assaulted in a park in the early hours.

The woman, aged in her twenties, befriended a group of males in a Stockwell bar last summer and continued drinking with them in the park.

She left with the group at around 2.00am on Saturday, August 1 

The males walked with the woman to Slade Gardens, where they shared alcohol while socialising.

Shortly afterwards, at around 2.30am, the woman lost consciousness. 

This is when the sexual assault is believed to have taken place.

She awoke and found the men had left the park and that her bank cards had been stolen.

The four men were in a group together and are believed to be friends.

Detectives are keen to identify and speak with the four men captured on CCTV from the night of the incident.

Detective Constable Colette Daoud, from the Metropolitan Police's Central South Safeguarding team, said: “This was an atrocious attack on a lone woman who was targeted late at night and subjected to serious sexual violence.

“We are requesting the publics help to identify the men pictured. 

“If you recognise any of these men, please come forward and speak to us.

“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, it is vital you get in touch.”

Anyone with information or who recognises the men captured in the CCTV is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 4055/01AUG20, or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Stop & Search Works: Four Deadly Blades Seized

Police seized these four knives from the streets of east London after stopping and searching a suspicious group.

The Metropolitan Police's Taskforce confiscated the deadly weapons in London Fields.

The officers were on proactive patrol in Wilman Grove, Hackney at 6.00pm on January 20.

They saw the group in and around a car parked suspiciously near a bin shed. 

When the group saw the police, two of the males quickly walked away. 

Police officers spoke to the remaining five and searched them and the car due to the smell of cannabis.

Officers found three lock-knives hidden within the roof lining of the car, £1,000 in cash and a small amount of Class B drugs. 

In the bin shed officers found a large Rambo-style knife and two sets of registration plates.

The men, aged between 17 and 25 years-old, were all arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. 

The 17-year-old was also arrested for possession of a Class B drug. 

They were taken into custody as the investigation continued.

Detective Constable Tony Curtis, of the Central East BCU CID, said: “This is a great example of intelligence-led stop and search. 

“Four potentially lethal weapons have been seized and will no longer be able to cause considerable harm, or worse, in the community.

“Stop and search helps keep Londoners safe and removes dangerous weapons from the streets.”

Jailed For Killer Punch

A killer responsible for the one-punch manslaughter of a father-of-five during a row has been locked-up.

Gareth Standing, 38, landed the blow on 41 year-old Wayne Hoskyns when he took offence to something the victim said.

They were chatting near a park
cafe in The Parade, Crayford, south-east London just after 4.00pm on June 19, last year.

Standing, of Central Road, Dartford was angered by something Mr Hoskyns said to his female companion and knocked him out with a punch and left the scene.

At Woolwich Crown Court he pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received four years and eight months imprisonment.

Mr Hoskyns was rushed by helicopter to hospital, where he died the next day surrounded by his family.

Three days later on June 23 Standing walked into a south London police station and gave himself up.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command said: “Our thoughts today are with the family of Wayne Hoskyns who was taken from them so suddenly. 

“Despite the legal proceedings now being at an end, the effects of the loss they have suffered will continue in the years ahead.

“I would like to thank the witnesses who came forward to assist my team in establishing the circumstances surrounding Wayne’s death, particularly those who tried to help Wayne and called for medical assistance. 

“I applaud their sense of community and their commendable choice to do the right thing.”

Italian Passenger Caught With Hand Grenade In Luggage

A teenage Italian airline passenger caused a Heathrow Airport evacuation when a hand grenade was found in his luggage.

The item was quickly spotted by security during checks in the departure area of Terminal 2 at 5.30pm on January 15.

Specialist officers attended and Domenico Giovinazzo, 19, was arrested.

The hand grenade was identified as decommissioned and posed no threat to staff or passengers.

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, who leads the Metropolitan Police's Aviation Policing Command said: “There are certain items that are strictly prohibited from being brought into an airport and bringing a hand grenade - albeit decommissioned - was both reckless and dangerous and it caused a huge amount of disruption to the airport and for other passengers. 

“There are various security checks in place to identify prohibited items such as this and when this item was spotted, we had specialist officers on-hand to quickly respond. 

“Thankfully they were able to identify the item was not a threat and nobody was hurt.

“This should be a reminder and warning to all passengers to ensure that they are not bringing any prohibited items with them into the airport and if you are not sure, then check with the airport and airline you are flying with.”

Giovinazzo was charged the next day with carrying a prohibited article in an airport.

Two days later he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

He was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, suspended for one year, and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.

Second Time Unlucky For Persistent Paedo

A paedophile, who avoided prison when caught inciting a youngster into sex, has finally been locked-up for repeating his predatory behaviour.

Steven Baldock, 51, was subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which he breached when contacting a 12 year-old girl online.

At Woolwich Crown Court he received three years imprisonment for breaking the SHPO.

In 2016 Baldock, of Compton Place, Erith was convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and received two years imprisonment, suspended for two years.

He was also placed on the sexual offenders register for ten years and given the SHPO.

It prohibited him from using the internet to contact or to attempt to contact any female whom he knew or believed to be under the age of 16 years-old.

On November 14, last year at around 1.29am Baldock breached these conditions.

He initiated contact with a 12-year-old girl via Instagram and engaged in a conversation with her and sent her a photo of himself.

Subsequent to this, Baldock also contacted other girls who were under the age of 16 years-old.

Baldock was arrested on November 24 after fellow-residents at his address discovered he was contacting girls and reported him to police.

Detective Sergeant Neil Dickerson, of the Metropolitan Police's South East Basic command unit, said: "Baldock is a repeat offender who continues to pose a risk to female children.

“Despite being issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, Baldock has continued to breach it and shows no remorse for his offending.”

Art Of Glass

Footballer Harry Arter has been fined for the excessive blacked-out windows of his luxury Bentley.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder, 31, was stopped by police in south-west London because of the expensive vehicle’s over-the-top tint job.

The Republic of Ireland international, who starred in the Premier League with AFC Bournemouth, was fined £220, with £110 costs and was ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge.

Arter, of Pendenza, Cobham, Surrey did not appear at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court and the case was proved in his absence.

He was convicted of driving the Bentley, which had insufficient transmission of light through the passenger-side front window, on the A3 Kingston Road on August 26, 2019.

Prosecutor Geraldine Dickinson told the court it was 9.29am when PC Dean Reynolds pulled Arter over.

The officer measured that only 23% of light was allowed through the passenger window. The legal requirement is 70%.

“The £50 fixed penalty was offered and he did attempt to pay, but it did not go through,” explained the prosecutor.

Actor Simon Pegg Banned For Speeding

Actor Simon Pegg was banned from the roads yesterday after being caught speeding in his Mercedes electric hybrid on a north London dual carriageway.

The 50 year-old Shaun of the Dead star was clocked on a camera driving at 63mph in a 40mph zone.

It was his fourth speeding offence within the last three years and Wimbledon Magistrates Court disqualified him for six months.

Pegg already had nine penalty points on his licence and the four points imposed for the latest offence triggered the automatic ban. 

Pegg, of Bedwell Lodge, Cucumber Lane, Essendon, Hatfield, Hertfordshire has also appeared in Hollywood blockbusters Star Wars: The Force Awakens; Star Trek and the Mission:Impossible franchise.

He declared his weekly income as £3,800 and was fined £660, with £85 costs, plus a £66 victim surcharge.

He admitted one charge of speeding on the A41 Hendon Way in his blue three-litre Merc on January 20, last year.

Magistrate Ms Deborah Drakesmith announced: “We have listened carefully to what has been said and looking at the guidelines we are going to endorse his licence with four penalty points, making thirteen penalty points and will disqualify him from driving for six months.

“The 63mph reading in near the top end,” she added, telling the absent Pegg’s lawyer Mr. Richard Saynor: “I am sure you will give him the disqualification warning as to how serious it is to drive while disqualified.”

Mr. Saynor told the court: “Mr. Pegg pleads guilty and takes full responsibility for the offence and accepts the points imposed will lead to the risk of disqualification.

“He specifically instructed me that he does not want to use up the court’s time arguing there are exceptional circumstances he should not be disqualified.

“The driving ban will cause him difficulties, but they will not be exceptional.

“He accepts the court will make a driving ban and it is something he accepts head-on.

“You will see in his letter to the court the charity works he undertakes and the impact a disqualification will have on others, particularly the strain it will have on his wife and the increased responsibilities she will have as well as running a household.

“He is aware that the ban will cause difficulties not only for him, but for others. He does need to drive in his professional life.

“It is something he deeply regrets and he wants to apologise to others effected by his ban.”

Oxfam’s Celebrity and Ambassador manager Genevieve Willis wrote a reference for Pegg, praising his charitable work, along with his “warmth, decency and generosity.” 

Marina Owner Guilty Of Attacking Houseboat Tenant

The flamboyant boss of a luxury Thames marina whacked a disgruntled houseboat owner - who he was trying to evict - with a pair of gardening gloves during a row, a court heard yesterday.

Myck Djurberg, 60, also picked-up a heavy-duty lead roofing tool and chased 52 year-old Dutch IT consultant Klaus Beversluis, shouting: “I’ll break your f***ing head.”

There was a confrontation in the office of Hampton Riviera Boat Yard, Hampton Court Road, Richmond at 10.00am on May 8, last year, Wimbledon Magistrates Court was told.

Businessman Djurberg, who lives in a landmark £13m Swiss chalet on the marina was in his adjoining office when Mr. Beversluis, who objected to an additional £5,500 service fee, entered. 

He told the trial, which Djurberg didn’t attend on medical grounds: “The second I came in he leapt up from behind his desk and almost ran towards me, shouting: ‘Get out of here! Get out of here!’

“He shouted at me and I said I could not get out and wanted to clarify the matter.

“He came up towards me and grabbed the nearest thing to him, which were a pair of heavy-duty gardening gloves, raised them and hit me on the back of my head and I also got a bruise on my arm.

“I got a smack on my head as I was trying to get out of there.

“He hit me across the back of the head with as much force as as he could muster and the back of my head was red the next day, it did sting, but did not draw blood.”

Mr. Beversluis fled the office, but was pursued by Djurberg, the court was told.

“I turned around and Myck Djurberg came out of the office and had grasped a weapon that I had seen before,” he added.

“It is called a lead dresser. It is a very heavy roofing tool, roofers use to hit lead flashing around chimneys.

“He had it raised up high and said he would break my f***ing head in.

“I had no doubt he would use it. I was absolutely terrified and ran away as fast as I could.

“It’s heavy enough to cave someone’s skull in, in my opinion.

“I suppose it has effected my confidence. It shook me up tremendously for a while and I had medical advice for increasing my anti-depression and anti-anxiety medication.”

The entire incident was captured on Mr. Beversluis’ camera and played during the trial, including a still of Djurberg holding the tool.

Mr. Beversluis even bought a replica of the tool and brought it to court to show the magistrates.

Djurberg’s lawyer Kieran Galvin suggested: “You went there to intimidate him and he wanted you out of his office.”

Mr. Beversluis denied this, claiming the marina and office was not Djurberg’s property because the whole site is in receivership.

“Savills are trying to get him evicted, he was occupying that boatyard against the law.

“There was no need to to hit me or in my view pick up a deadly weapon and threaten to hit me in the head.”

Just before the confrontation Mr. Beversluis learned Djurberg wanted to throw his caretaker, who looks after his houseboats, out of the marina.

“I got a notification that Mr. Djurberg was trying to get a member of our staff to leave the premises with immediate effect and as that was his home that would make him homeless.”

This was not the only dispute between the pair. “We had pre-paid mooring until the end of June and he claimed we owed money in respect of service charges. that he sprung on us in addition.”

When Mr. Beversluis refused to leave without a refund Djurberg began eviction proceedings.

Djurberg was questioned by police the next day. Prosecutor Mr. James Tucker told the court: “He said he was scared and asked the victim to leave, but he wouldn’t.

“He denied hitting the complainant with the gloves and said that the complainant elbowed him in the chest and his mind was blank about what else may have happened.

“He said the object in his hand was a pencil case and denied using those words. 

“He became agitated, saying he was the victim and didn’t intent for Mr. Beversluis to be put in fear and said he had been harassed.”

The magistrates convicted the absent Djurberg, who claims he has skin cancer, but failed to provide medical evidence, of assaulting Mr. Beversluis and using threatening behaviour towards him.

Issuing a warrant for Djurberg’s arrest Chairwoman Mandy Lamplugh said: “There was no aggressive action from the complainant.

“Mr. Beversluis simply entered the marina office and there was an immediate physical response from Mr. Djurberg who jumped up and moved towards him.

“We clearly see Mr. Djurberg raising his arm and the orange gloves are in his hand.

‘We later see Mr. Djurberg armed with the lead dresser, chasing Mr. Beversluis and making threats of: ‘breaking his f***ing head’ are clearly heard on the video.

“We don’t accept Mr. Djurberg acted in self-defence and he has not given evidence or come to court today.

Djurbeg was disqualified in 2017 from being a Company director and fined £35,000, with the alternative if he did not pay of 15 months imprisonment.

He also has a theft from the person conviction in 2001.

“The priority is Mr. Djurbeg should be brought to court and sentenced,” added Ms Lamplugh.

Jail For Leicester Square Knifeman

A knifeman, who plunged a blade into the back of his victim during a public early hours money row in Leicester Square, has been locked-up.

Klaudio Kacubaj, 27, of Leeside Crescent, Golders Green received four years and six months' imprisonment.

He was found guilty at Southwark Crown Court of wounding Harry Morris, with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a kitchen knife.

Police were called at 2.55am on August 16, last year to reports that a man had been assaulted in Leicester Square, central London.

Officers responded along with London Ambulance Service and found Mr Morris, aged in his twenties, with a stab injury to his back. 

He was taken to hospital, where his condition was assessed as non life-threatening.

The court heard Kacubaj was involved in an argument with the victim, who was sitting on a wall at the time of the stabbing. 

He moved closer and stabbed him in the back before he attempted to flee the scene.

The incident was witnessed by two off-duty police officers. 

They detained Kacubaj until more police arrived. 

He was arrested and taken into custody.

Officers began a thorough search of the area and recovered a six inch knife nearby. 

Forensic tests later linked the weapon to the crime. 

They also recovered CCTV from a nearby business that showed Kacubaj carrying out the attack.

Detective Constable Laura Harcombe, of the Central West Basic Command Unit, said: “This was a brazen attack that happened in a busy area and I would like to praise the off-duty police officers who were nearby at the time and stopped the defendant leaving. 

“They also provided first aid to the victim and supported him until paramedics arrived.

“The victim was lucky not to have suffered more significant injuries and I hope this custodial sentence allows him some closure, while demonstrating that this sort of senseless violence will not be tolerated.”

Zombie Knives, Gun & Cocaine Seized During Stockwell Police Raid

Two men were arrested after a police raid on a south London property, where officers seized a loaded gun, six zombie knives and cocaine.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Specialist Crime Command executed a firearms warrant at the residential address in Stockwell on Monday, January 18.

Two men aged 43, and 47, were detained.

The suspected self-loading pistol, which contained bullets, was made safe and has been sent off for testing.

The men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, with intent to endanger life, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a bladed article.

They were taken to a south London police station and were subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Phil Holt from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:

“This warrant resulted a number of dangerous weapons being taken off the streets of London as well as a large amount of Class A drugs. 

“This is yet another example of the inextricable link between drugs and violence.

“Every, single day operations such as this are taking place to remove drugs and weapons from our streets and ultimately make London a safer place for everyone.”
