Pensioner In Court For Historic Sexual Offences Charges

An Avon pensioner, accused of historic sex offences against a young boy forty years ago, appeared at Croydon Crown Court for the first time this week.

Malcolm Stuart, 75, of High Street, Banwell was bailed until December 4 for a plea and case management hearing.

He has already indicated he will be denying the charges.

Stuart is charged with two counts of gross indecency against the boy when he was aged twelve and thirteen years-old between January 1, 1974 and January 1, 1981.

He is further charged with four counts of indecently assaulting the boy during the same period and committing a further sex act.
