A
paedophile policeman was snared in a covert operation conducted by
his colleagues with sexually-explicit images of children.
Dominick
Akinlade, 37, immediately resigned from his job as a Police Constable
in Merton borough after he was arrested.
He
pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court (pictured) to five counts of
making indecent images of children and will continue to be remanded
in custody until he is sentenced on May 19.
Akinlade
was arrested on October 1, last year by officers from the
Metropolitan Police's Paedophile Unit.
He
was found to be in possession of a number of indecent images of
children – which he had downloaded from the internet - onto his
home computer.
He
did not come into contact with any of the children shown in the
imagesand none of them were on police computers.
