British Transport Police (BTP) have released this image of the suspect.
Investigating officers are appealing to members of the public to assist them in identifying him.
The victim was travelling onboard a Thameslink train travelling between West Hampstead and Kentish Town just after 11.00pm on Saturday, December 14.
A male deliberately placed himself opposite the woman and began muttering to himself.
He then began shouting violent sexually abusive language towards her.
Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.
