A train creep, who molested a 15 year-old girl in a “disgusting and brazen sexual assault,” has had the smile wiped off his face with an immediate prison sentence.
Petro Ninichuk, 37, even tried to convince station security the victim was his girlfriend when she reported his attack.
At Inner London Crown Court he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl onboard a train travelling towards Sevenoaks, Kent on Sunday, January 27, last year.
Ninichuk, of Station Street, Brighton received nineteen weeks imprisonment and must sign the sex offenders register for seven years.
The court heard the victim was walking through the train with her friend when Ninichuk grabbed her hand and pulled her to sit on the seat in front of him.
She told him she was only 15-years-old in the hope it would stop his advances, but Ninichuk was non-deterred and sexually assaulted her in a prolonged attack.
The victim’s friend approached another passenger who intervened and invited the girls to sit with him.
When the train reached Sevenoaks the victim’s friend alerted security staff who identified Ninichuk on the train.
While he was with security staff Ninichuk spotted the victim who had been taken to safety in the station office and was trying to get near her, telling them: “That’s my girlfriend.”
Staff called British Transport Police, who arrived and arrested him immediately.
Detective Sergeant Richard Osbourne said: “This was a truly disgusting and brazen sexual assault on a teenage girl, by a predator who knew full well she was just fifteen years of age and chose to subject her to this prolonged attack.
“I’d like to pay particular praise to the victim and her friend for reporting it to station staff at the time which enabled us to act quickly, and also to the bystander who intervened at the time of the assault to remove them from the situation.”
