A HMO resident has appeared in court, accused of touching another occupant’s backside before smashing the man in the face with an improvised weapon.
Ratnasingam Jeyabalasingam, 41, of Swanwick Close, Roehampton denies the allegation and will stand trial next year, when he will need the assistance of a Tamil interpreter.
He was bailed by Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court to return on February 26 on condition he does not communicate with the complainant.
Jeyabalasingam is charged with sexually assaulting the male on March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, in the address’ kitchen, where they are still residents.
He is also charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm to the complainant on the staircase, using a wooden pole.
The court heard the complainant suffered a fractured skull and wound to his face.
Jeyabalasingam will claim at trial he was acting in self-defence after he was attacked with a wooden pole.
