A young thug who was in a gang that attacked a popular South London DJ – fatally stabbed in the heart after a nightclub set – has been convicted of manslaughter.
Carl Beatson Asiedu, 19, (pictured) died in the back seat of a friend’s car as open-heart surgery was performed in a desperate bid by an emergency medical team to save his life.
Carl has just performed at Club Life, Goding Street, Kennington as part of an urban event on August 1, 2009 and was walking with a friend to their vehicle when the pal began arguing with a young male in the eleven-strong group.
One of the gang, 21 year-old Junior Ademujimi-Falade, of Landor House, Elmington Estate, Camberwell was convicted of manslaughter at the Old Bailey and will be sentenced on December 2.
Carl - aka DJ Charmz – collapsed in the street after one of the group stabbed him and he was rushed to hospital in the back of a friend’s car.
Police stopped the convoy of speeding cars and raised the alarm, but doctors in the air ambulance could not save Carl, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The knifeman is still wanted by police and an investigation into him continues.
