British Transport Police (BTP) have released this image and are requesting the assistance of the public to identify him.
The mystery male is white, aged approximately in his twenties or thirties, bare-chested and wearing a skimpy pair of elaborately-patterned shorts.
BTP are treating the allegation as sexual assault.
Just before 5.00pm on June 30 the victim was travelling on a Jubilee Line train between Southwark and London Bridge stations.
She has reported to BTP she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male passenger.
Officers would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 500 of 30 June.
