Police
hope this selfie taken by a mobile phone's security settings will
identify a suspected mugger, who attacked a lone woman in east
London.
Officers
in the borough of Waltham Forest are appealing for help to identify
the man, who they are keen to speak with in connection with the
street robbery.
The
incident occurred on Wednesday, 5 August, at 2:00pm in Westdown
Road, Stratford.
The
25-year-old woman was approached from behind and pushed to the floor.
Her
HTC mobile phone was snatched from her hand and the man then made off
in an unknown direction.
The
victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical
assistance.
Attempts
later that day to access the phone were made.
By
entering an incorrect password this triggered the phones front facing
camera to take a ‘selfie’ photograph which was emailed to the
victim.
Anyone
with information or who can identify this man is asked to call police
at Waltham Forest on 101 quoting reference 4915903/15. Alternatively,
to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
