A young drug smuggler, caught with
18 kilos of cannabis when he stepped off a flight at Gatwick Airport, has been
sent to prison.Gareth Craig Orrow, 22, of Jarden, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire fought the case at Croydon Crown Court (pictured).
He pleaded not guilty to importing the class 'B' drug on December 13, last year, but was convicted after a trial.
Orrow was sentenced to two years and eight months imprisonment.
He must pay £2,000 prosecution costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
Twenty-one days he has already spent in custody on the charge will be deducted from the sentence.
